Imagine That
A child’s idea of a fun afternoon might include endless cartoons or a muddy game of kickball, and it probably doesn’t include the act of learning. But children and adults alike can expand their knowledge without sacrificing the fun during an entertaining and interactive visit to the Imagination Station in Toledo, Ohio.
Your little brainiacs will enjoy intellectual activities in Imagination Station’s seven unique Learning Worlds. Each area has a specific scientific specialty, created for the dual purpose of entertainment and education. Take your children to the ENGINEER IT! area to design their own airplane or boat, or experiment with the power of sunlight in the Energy Factory area. Experience firsthand the extreme pull of gravity in the Distorted Gravity Room located in the Mind Zone. The Distorted Gravity Room “offers an incredible optical illusion,” says Anna Kolin, communications and public relations manager at the Imagination Station.
Visit the Water Works hall to experience the effects of a hurricane, hurry over to the Science Studio to partake in the world of chemistry, or head to the Little KIDSPACE for activities for younger children.
After exploring the halls of the Station, ride a bicycle 20 feet in the air on the High Wire Cycle. Or try your hand at broadcasting with the LIVE Report! attraction, which gives kids a chance to act as a commentator.
“The beautiful thing is that [kids] are having so much fun that they don’t even realize that they’re learning,” says Kolin.
