7 Fall Adventures in Michigan
Walks through the treetops, craft cider sips, a look at grazing elk and more are on the bill this season in the Great Lakes State.

In the Alpine-themed downtown of Gaylord, Michigan, there is plenty of fun to be found, but 1 mile north of the heart of town, visitors will find the city-owned elk heard. The 40 elk, along with sika and fallow deer, roam the 108-acre space, and autumn is a great time to see the herd, as it is their most active time. Watch as they try to rub the velvet from their horns or as they munch on the corn and hay provided by the city’s public works crew. Enjoy a look at these creatures from three different viewing sites, as well as other adventures this season including craft cider sips, scenic hikes, treetop walks and much more.
