4 Fall Color Adventures in West Virginia

From two-hour scenic train excursions to a hike to a stunning 57-foot waterfall, here are four ways to see vibrant autumn leaves in the Mountain State this season.

The New Tygart Flyer excursion is a four-hour, 22-mile round trip to Bald Knob, one of West Virginia’s highest points. It is one of a variety of excursions by Mountain Rail Adventures that provides a chance to see West Virginia in a new way. Also home to the 4,127-acre Babcock State Park and our nation’s newest national park, New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, West Virginia offers plenty to explore as autumn takes hold.

Blackwater Falls State Park in Davis, West Virginia, gets its name from the dark-hued water flowing over its 57-foot main waterfall, but that is just the beginning of its natural beauty.
